A rare edition of Malebranche's principal and most important work – "Concerning the Search after Truth". This book would lay the foundation for all of Malebranche's philosophical ideas and reputation. He primarily focused on human error and the existence of God within human nature. This edition also includes his "Laws of Communication" and his responses to Regis. This work was written with the sole purpose of generalizing, clarifying, and commenting on God's miracles and actions toward man.

The book was eventually placed on the Index of Prohibited Books in 1690 after disputes over its contents couldn't be settled. John Locke is known to have described Malebranche as "an acute and ingenious author" but obviously, not everyone saw his work in such light.

Edward Stillingfleet was a 17th-century British theologian known for his defensive views on Anglicanism. His first work, which (negatively) set the tone for his literary career, was 'The Irenicum', a work which advocated for compromise between the Presbyterian and Anglican Orthodox churches. While the root of the work is founded in theological church models and structures, Stillingfleet covers a variety of philosophical ideas including the state of natural law.

According to Morison and Richardson,
"'The Irenicum' was set forth the assuage the spirit of sectarian bitterness; it was an attempt to show that there was no plan of Church Order laid down in the New Testament; and it bears just as strongly against notions of divine institution of Presbyterianism."

Cornelius Nepos was a 1st-century BC Roman author whose works have mostly all been lost. However, his one surviving work is "Excellentium Imperatorum Vitae" which is a collection of biographical descriptions of Roman and foreign leaders. According to Roberts, this work details: "Roman kings, generals, lawyers, orators, poets, historians, and philosophers." Notable figures covered by Nepos include Themistocles, Lysander, and most famously Cato the Elder.
This 1667 Latin edition was collected and edited with commentary by Robert Keuchenius.

Cesare Baronio of Sora was a 16th-century Italian cardinal and historian of the Catholic Church. Baronio had extensive conversations with Galileo on the heavens and was quoted as saying that "the Bible teaches us how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go" in direct opposition to the famed astronomer.

Baronio wrote numerous theological works, but none more important than 'Ecclesiastical Annales'. In this work, Baronio provides a history of the first 12 centuries of the church with a heavy influence from the papacy.
