Los Angeles: Echelon Book Publishers, Inc, 1967. 1st edition. Soft cover. Fine/No Jacket (as issued). Near Fine. Mass market paperback, 192pp, printed wrappers. An uncommonly fresh copy of this rare and bizarre exploitation paperback biography of Crowley, written by the enigmatic "James Harvey" in an exceedingly florid, quasi-literate style ("A Victorian sex-demon who believed in perversity as a dahlia trusts the sun"). Minor rubbing to covers, but tight and exceedingly well preserved for a work of this character (nicest copy I have ever seen).

'A Book of New England Legends' is a collection of folk lore in prose and poetry from the beginning of the settlement of New England to the late 19th century. Drake believed that story could communicate something about society that science could not, and so, he collected these stories from all over New England to further illustrate the society and culture of New England. His book is divided up into geographical locations giving a short description of the area to set the scene for the poetry and prose of each area.
This 1884 edition includes 112 illustrations by F.T. Merrill.

Description:
Crowley's masterpiece, the work into which he poured his knowledge of the Astral and other planes. It is in three parts, the first two of which cover the principles of Yoga, and of Ceremonial Magic as taught in the Golden Dawn where he served his apprenticeship from 1898 to 1900. The third and major part, which was written mainly in his Abbey of Thelma in Sicily between 1920 and 1923, contains his own system of practical occultism. Crowley's Magick is a doctrine and a technique for establishing contact with extra-terrestrial entities - spirits, demons, elementals - for the purpose of extending human consciousness and expanding life to cosmic proportions. An excellent copy. Pages are bright and tidy. No marks, creases or browning. Possibly unread. Cloth boards are tight and clean. DJ is price clipped but very clear and bright and only the most minor shelf wear at the top spine. Some spine and other fading as is typical with this book.
