New York: Thomas Crowell, 1977. 1st Edition 5th or later Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. Donna Diamond. 1977 Thomas Crowell FIRST edition 6th printing ( # line to 6) of Paterson's always RARE book. The book has a tipped-in and dated inscription from the author, located on the title page. The hardback & spine is in Near Fine condition, with no marks, slant, stains. The original unclipped dust jacket ($7.95) is in fair condition as the front is missing a 1" piece from the bottom half-way up. Therefore, we've also included a later state DJ when the book's publisher changed to HarperCollins. This latter DJ has only some discoloring near the edges but otherwise clean and bright. VG/VG condition with minor wear on both the HB & unclipped DJ ( $7.95) Adapted successfully for film in 2007 by David Paterson and Jeff Stockwell, directed by Gabor Csupo, starring Josh Hutcherson, AnnaSophia Robb, Zooey Deschanel, and Robert Patrick.

Synopsis

Bridge to Terabithia is a work of children's literature about two lonely children who create a magical forest kingdom. The author is Katherine Paterson, and the book was published in 1977 by HarperCollins. In 1978, it won the Newbery Medal. Paterson drew inspiration for the novel from a real event that occurred in August 1974 when a friend of Paterson's son was struck by lightning and killed.
