[AMERICANA - 19th CENTURY EPHEMERA] AMERICAN COW MILKER MACHINE POSTER, ORIGINAL. Buffalo, NY: Express Printing Company for the American Cow Milking Machine Co. [n.d. ca. 1865]. 42 x 26 3/4 inches. Woodblock printing: Boldest typeface measures 10 inches tall. L. O. Colvin's "American Cow Milker" was patented in 1860 as the first use of teat cups with a vacuum. The milker was used in England, but the constant vacuum pressure caused problems with the cows' teats. He sold the patent in England for about $5,000, after selling over 1,500 machines. He continued to make improvements and was more successful in America where this undated broadside was published. "Triumphant Success | The Most Important and Valuable Invention of the 19th Century" proclaims the headline; the company is seeking business men to invest/sell the machines; the farmer is being courted. The three letters indicate Steve Allen's more serious side on issues of religion and philosophy. The collection on Steve Allen's letterhead includes (1) a type one-page letter signed to Donald K. Sharpes on September 7, 1959. Allen explains his intent in the articles in Look Magazine was to shock Christians into realizing their hypocrisy. (2) a letter of November 27, 1959, where he explains he has digested the contents of his previous letter and he intends to answer with a fuller communication; and (3) August 2, 1960, where he provides a long two-page typed letter his response. He explains that he is a neighbor of a philosopher or a scientist, but he believes man has a soul. He is puzzled by the horrors of creation such as children born on occasion without a brain or other deformities. Do these little beings have souls? Rodolfo Pichi Sermolli fu un grande botanico specializzato nelle felci Pterodofite. On linen, there was some fold line separation, especially at edge borders, there has been some minor inpainting in the area of the words "MY" and "LIPS", but poster has extraordinary, bright, original colors, near fine.An extremely rare poster and one of the earliest to feature star Clara Bow prominently. Long believed to be a lost film, a nitrate print was found and has been preserved. The film is a romance with a suspense twist in which William Powell plays the debonair character he became famous for and Clara Bow as the ultimate jazz baby.

Canterbury, New Hampshire: S.N, 1830. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. Boards rubbed and soiled, ink note from district clerk on front board, ink owner name on front endpaper, evidence that leaves were once pressed between some blank pages. 1830 Hard Cover. Unpaginated, ruled pages as one would expect to see in a ledger. Leather spine, olive paper over boards. A manuscript book detailing board elections, budget votes, and other administrative matters related to the operation of Canterbury, New Hampshire's School District No. 4, written in the hands of several different clerks.

1927. An 8" x 10" vintage movie photograph of Babe Ruth and his co-star Anna Q. Nilsson in the now lost film "Babe Comes Home". The photograph has attached the information from the Movie Company First National Pictures, Inc. with a short summary of the story. First National found this film was a huge hit at the box office. It was filmed at the Los Angeles Wrigley Field (then a minor league stadium) owned by William K. Wrigley and later films made there included The Pride of the Yankees, The Stratton Story, and Damn Yankees. The film was made in the spring of 1927 with co-star Anna Quirentia Nilsson who also was the first Swedish actress to receive her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. What makes this especially scarce is the attached label which gives added provenance to a very rare Babe Ruth photograph.

A collection of 25 examples of hand printed and constructed book and paper art, each number 24 of limited editions of 60 copies, plus 11 items of Skeptical Press ephemera, including subscription reminders, envelopes and memos, all hand printed at the press. Housed in a purpose made archive box, constructed by Coriander Reisbord in 2005 and with a printed list of the Press titles from 2000 to 2004 mounted to the inner panel of the lid, covered in green cloth and with a printed label to the front. The box measures 9.9 x 7.8 x 2.7 inches, the works within all vary in size and format. A wonderful and varied collection of interesting works by one of America's most talented paper artists and printers of the modern era.

A signed, inscribed letter to friends telling them about his June 4th reopening of the show with music by Jelly Bean Bennitez. UNIQUE EPHEMERA. About the show: In 1991, Leguizamo also wrote and performed in the Off-Broadway production Mambo Mouth, where he played seven different characters. Mambo Mouth won an Obie Award and an Outer Critics Award. He was listed as one of 12 "Promising New Actors of 1991" in "John Willis' Screen Worlds Vol. 43". We take offers.
