Loosely laid in is a small publisher's printed publicity card quoting a review of Fer-De-Lance by William Lyons Phelps. Gold gilt on spine a bit faded, gilt on front cover sharp and bright, pages 301-304 carelessly opened at the bottom edge, green top color is bright and unfaded, else a near fine, tight, square copy in dust jacket which has been internally restored. An extremely handsome copy of a very scarce book in collector's condition. A Haycraft/Queen Cornerstone title.

Dust jacket is the original, though it has been attached to the pastedowns; rear flap partially pulled away at the top edge which has slightly torn some of the paper on the rear pastedown. A few stains to edges of pages 3-20. No markings to text. This is the second Nero Wolfe novel, a Haycraft Queen Cornerstone, incredibly scarce in the original jacket. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.

THE LEAGUE OF FRIGHTENED MEN in Saturday Evening Post from 6-15-1935 through 7-20-1935, first edition, 6 volumes complete, all in full color pictorial wraps (one having a Norman Rockwell cover and another a cover by J. C. Leyendecker) with one issue being a vg copy while the others are very good plus to near fine copies. Also contains the original work of Jack Dempsey, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis, J. P. Marquand, Arthur Train, et.al. The true first edition of this, the 2nd Nero Wolfe title. Rare thus and much more difficult to locate than the most definitely later book format. Perhaps your only chance to procure this scarce offering.
