SIGNED & inscribed by author (""For the mother and father of my good friend xxxx- Hoping you will both like this- my first attempt. Sincerely Willard Motley/ June 11, 1947"") on 1st blank page. First Edition, 2nd printing; c. 1947, ""(2)"" on last page of text. Gray- tan cloth binding tight, bright, square & clean w/ little to no wear. NO bumps, frays, scuffs or spine discolor. All blue lettering (w/ shadowed title) crisp & intact. Text is tight, clean & unmarked w/ only very light toning. NO brown spotting, hinge splits, etc.; NOT ex library. Handsome, well preserved copy- displays extremely well.
