Tight and VG+ in its pictorial boards, with light foxing along the spine. And in a crisp, VG dustjacket, with minor foxing to the rear panel. Tight and very presentable, a significantly above-average example of the 1958 1st edition.

NO inscriptions. No scribbling. No tears. No finger soiling. Original publisher's quarter cloth with paper covered boards. Number 61 in the 'I can read books'. The tail of the pages are a little thumbed as is often the way with children's books. The wrapper has not been price-clipped. There is a 4cm tear to the head of the front panel of the wrapper - now expertly repaired. Some rubbing and light chipping to the wrapper at the head and tail of the spine and to the corners. A very good copy of a scarce UK first edition.
