In a very good clipped wrapper with some light internal reinforcement to the spine. Spine browned, with a little wear to the extremities. Accompanied by the rare wrap-around band. In a custom-made clamshell box with titles. E. M Forster's own copy, with his book label. Much of Forster's library was sold when the author moved from his family home at West Hackhurst in Abinger Hammer, Surrey in 1946. After taking residence in Kings College Cambridge (with a much reduced library), he continued to give books away as he acquired new ones. Most of his final was sold in 1971 by Heffer and Sons. According to Quill and Brush's 2007 Author Price Guide, Faber produced perhaps ten copies in this format and according to bookseller Ken Lopez noting in 1998, there were four known extant copies. Though it's possible since 1998 a copy or so may have surfaced, the number of extant copies would still range between four and below about ten. That being said, none have appeared in auction records as far as we can deduce, and this format remains truly scarce.Bound in publisher's buff wraps printed in black, utilizing a paper stock which differs from that used in the published edition.Very Good with lean to binding, wear, light foxing, soiling and light sunning to wraps with light loss at spine ends, pages toned. Ink notation to front cover and rubber stamp "keeping" to first sheet. A rare advance format of a major novel in 20th Century literature.

Very Good with stains and slight bowing to boards, light foxing to edges, in original dust jacket with some offsetting from tape on verso and flaps, still Near Fine, having very subtle toning to spine panel, barely any edge wear, unclipped and unrestored. The author's first book, a post-apocalyptic novel of boys on a remote island descending into barbarity. Scarce in its British first edition in a presentable original dust jacket.

Lord of the Flies was Golding's first novel. An unlicensed, vanity press-published sequel to *Lord of the Flies*, billed as a "continuation" of William Golding's classic novel. Surprisingly scarce. Based on the dates, *OCLC* seems to locate one copy of the Advance Reading Copy (under the name "Jody Glynn Patrick") and one copy of the first edition, neither of which are held by universities.
