UK: Hodder and Stoughton, 1949. First Edition . Cloth. Very Good ++/Very Good+. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Eileen Soper. 1st Edition 6th Imp 1949. Signed presentation label tipped in from from Enid Blyton to Joy. Wonderful Provenance: The bookplate belonged to Joyce Clark, thence by descent. Joy Clark born 1937 grew up in Beaconsfield with her parents Isabella and Cecil Clark. The Clark's ran an ironmonger's shop in the town and Enid Blyton was a regular customer. For many years whenever one of her books was published, Blyton would kindly sign and give a book to Joy, who was a small child at the time. In the same format as the 1st Edition. Uncommon with such a bright wrapper. Book is very good and bright. Contents good. Pages lightly age toned. The wrapper is very good+ with a bright spine. Edges lightly rubbed, creased and nicked. A few small closed tears to edges. Light soiling to white rear. More images can be taken upon request.Ref16409/16359
